Dr. Phillips is a community in southwest Orlando, Florida. Dr. Phillips: The area that is now known as Dr. Phillips was settled in the late 1800s when it consisted of agricultural and cattle grazing land. Much of the land in the area was owned by Dr. Philip Phillips, a wealthy citrus grower and philanthropist, after whom this residential area is named.

Dr. Phillips also started developing his land in the early 1900s, planting citrus groves and building a massive home that still stands today behind a gated entrance known as the Dr. Phillips House. He constructed a school and a church, and gave land for the creation of a hospital, which was subsequently named Dr. P. Phillips Hospital.

The nearby attractions continue to draw people to the area, and by the 1970s, the area had its population boom.

Today, Dr. Phillips is known for its affluent communities, excellent schools and ample amenities. The area boasts numerous luxury homes, a golf course, parks and community recreation facilities. The region is also known for being near major theme parks, including Walt Disney World and Universal Studios, as well as the many fine dining and shopping options.
